Cybersecurity is an increasingly important topic in the health care industry, as 92% of health care organizations faced cyberattack threats in the past year, up 88% from 2023. Central to this conversation is the evolution of artificial intelligence (AI), which 94% of health care companies say they use in some form, according to a 2023 Morgan Stanley Research survey.  

Prime Therapeutics (Prime) continues to lead the industry when it comes to information technology (IT) innovation and balancing technological advancement with responsible governance. These efforts were recently recognized with a 2025 Chief Security Officer (CSO) Award, which honors organizations that demonstrate excellence in security and risk management, showcasing innovative security strategies and offering significant business value.  

“The role of cybersecurity professionals in today's landscape has become much more nuanced with the expansion of AI and the threats it can pose,” said Cam Kracke, vice president, chief information security officer. “We are honored to receive this award that recognizes our accomplishments.”  

Launched in 2023, Prime’s award-winning program established two key bodies to support the company’s IT innovation work:  

1. An AI governance body to oversee risk and compliance.
2. An AI enablement team to accelerate experimentation and deployment.  

These groups help create a safe and flexible framework for managing AI in health care, allowing for innovation while keeping risks in check.
