Prime Therapeutics named second largest private company headquartered in Minnesota
Prime moves up one spot to No. 2 in annual ranking
The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal annually identifies the top private companies headquartered in Minnesota ranked by revenue. Of the 183 companies in this year’s list, Prime moved into the No. 2 position for fiscal year 2024 performance.
The Journal reports every company that's within the top 10 firms this year was also ranked in the top 10 last year. Cargill, in the No. 1 spot, makes up nearly half of the total revenue of the state’s 75 largest privately held companies. The top 75 companies combined employ 300,000 people and reported hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue in 2024, according to Business Journal research.
To qualify for the ranking, a company must have headquarters in Minnesota, be a for-profit operation and not issue stock to the public.
The full Minnesota’s Largest Private Companies list is available now online and will be published in the Journal’s annual Book of Lists later this year.
