Prime Therapeutics supports Children’s Minnesota with $25K donation
In addition to championing cancer care through its industry-leading solutions and clinical insights, Prime supports families impacted by cancer and blood disorders through its charitable giving and volunteer efforts with nonprofit Children’s Minnesota
About 1 in 295 children in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer before they turn 20, according to the American Childhood Cancer Organization. Thanks to advances in oncology treatments, prognoses have improved, but survivors still face significant challenges when it comes to treatment.
Prime Therapeutics (Prime) is committed to providing the kind of care we would want for our loved ones. That purpose guides Prime to build a better care system for children who are diagnosed with a life-altering condition like cancer.
While Prime offers holistic oncology solutions and clinical insights, Prime is also committed to supporting children with cancer and blood disorders through its charitable and volunteer efforts with Children’s Minnesota.
The organization, one of the largest nonprofit health systems for comprehensive pediatric care in the Midwest, is one of Prime’s five strategic charity partners. In 2025, Prime once again contributed $25,000 to Children’s Minnesota’s Shine Bright for Kids campaign, an annual initiative to raise money for the health system's cancer and blood disorders program, which serves more than 3,500 children every year. Prime also donates an average of $8,000 every year toward the Children’s Family Resource Centers with snacks and treats for patients and their families while they’re in the hospital. Prime’s contributions help children facing cancer receive care that goes beyond medicine — including emotional, social and financial needs.
“Our partnership with Children’s Minnesota is about more than corporate philanthropy — it’s about standing beside children and families during the most difficult moments of their lives,” said Erin Feigal, chief human resources officer. “When a child faces a diagnosis as devastating as cancer, they’re in need of the best care along with compassion and hope. Prime is honored to help create a future where every child can access the treatment and support they need to live healthy, joyful lives.”
“We care for the majority of children in our region who are diagnosed with cancer or a blood disorder. The generosity of Prime Therapeutics and its employees helps us surround these patients and their families with the compassionate, comprehensive care they deserve,” said Jennifer Soderholm, president of the Children’s Minnesota Foundation. “Prime’s support makes an incredible difference — from advancing life‑saving research to easing everyday burdens like meals, mortgage or rent, and funding meaningful programs like music and art therapy that help kids simply be kids. As a nonprofit health system, we are deeply grateful for Prime’s partnership and its commitment to the children and families we serve.”
Employees feel personal calling to give back
Prime provides opportunities for its employees to give back through its PrimeCares program, which empowers employees to donate, volunteer and participate in charitable events. Employees who volunteer regularly can request grants of $125 per eight hours of service, up to $500 annually, for the nonprofits they support.
“I support Children’s Minnesota because my daughter has undergone three open-heart surgeries in their care, and their incredible team gave me the gift of watching her grow and thrive,” said Courtney Giese, senior business integration consultant at Prime. “Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to give back by volunteering at fundraising events — such as walks and galas, making hygiene kits and tie blankets for patients and families, serving dinners at the Ronald McDonald House or delivering snacks and coffee to family lounges. I’m proud to work for a company that supports an organization that has given so much to my family and countless others.”
“Over the past nearly 20 years I’ve been at Prime, I’ve had the chance to support Children’s Minnesota by attending fundraising events, volunteering at holiday celebrations in the Child Life Zone, preparing meals at the Ronald McDonald House, and coordinating monthly snack donations to their Family Resource Center rooms through our PrimeCares program,” said Andy Johnson, senior systems process analyst at Prime. “Through those experiences — and the moments my own kids have had at Children’s — I’ve seen firsthand how vital their work is. They provide compassionate care and support to families when they need it most. Supporting organizations like Children’s Minnesota helps ensure every child has access to the care they deserve, and I’m proud to be part of a company that makes that possible and encourages us to give back in ways that truly matter.”
