Mike Kolar, JD

As senior vice president, general counsel and secretary to the Prime Therapeutics board of directors, Mike Kolar leads Prime’s legal, compliance and government affairs teams. In today’s complex health care market, superior partnerships are made possible by demonstrated expertise in these critical areas. Kolar has drawn on broad industry experience to protect Prime, its clients, business partners and members, and represents those interests before lawmakers and regulators.

Kolar joined Prime in 2016, bringing with him more than 20 years’ experience across legal, business and government advocacy functions. Prior to Prime, Kolar held several executive roles, including chief corporate development officer and chief legal and administrative officer at Virtual Radiologic Corporation (vRad), where he had responsibility for legal, compliance, government affairs and corporate strategy functions. Prior to that, Kolar served as chief legal officer for MOBE, LLC, general counsel for Rooster.com and partner in the corporate finance and transactions group at Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly LLP.

Kolar earned a bachelor’s of business administration degree with a concentration in finance from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. He earned his Juris Doctor degree at William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law) in St. Paul, Minnesota, graduating summa cum laude and class valedictorian.
