Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks myelin, the protective covering around nerve fibers, in the central nervous system — including the brain and spinal cord. Damage to myelin can cause challenges with mobility, vision, fatigue, cognition or coordination. To support members with this condition, Prime Therapeutics (Prime) offers its Care Specialists program, designed to offer personalized, condition-specific care. This specialty pharmacy offering automatically enrolls members who fill eligible specialty prescriptions through the Prime Therapeutics Pharmacy, connecting members with pharmacists and nurses who are specially trained in conditions including multiple sclerosis. Care specialists work one-on-one with members throughout their treatment journey to provide clinical guidance, medication education and ongoing support related to specialty therapies. 

The program is intended to complement a patient’s broader care team and provide additional guidance as they navigate life with MS.
