Prime Therapeutics LLC (Prime) today announced its support for making TrumpRx prescription drug prices visible to consumers. The industry commitment, announced in coordination with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA), would enable TrumpRx prices to be used as an additional pricing data point alongside prices and options available through a member’s pharmacy benefit, where consistent with plan coverage and permitted by law. This gives members another way to identify the lowest available price for their medications. 

Prime’s model is built around affordability, transparency and choice — not steering members to pharmacies it owns. As a company owned by not-for-profit Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans, Prime is focused on helping health plans, employers and members find the lowest available prescription drug price, wherever that value exists. That approach is reflected in solutions like MedsYourWay^®, which can show members the lowest available price for their medication, and Amazon Pharmacy home delivery, which gives members another convenient way to access prescription medications. Both examples reflect the same principle: Prime works with partners to make pricing information more useful, expand member choice and help people find lower-cost prescription options without steering them to an owned pharmacy asset.
