The Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) recently recognized two of Prime Therapeutics/Magellan Rx’s (Prime/MRx) key leaders as 2024 Rising Stars: Simone Ndujiuba, director of clinical strategy and innovation, oncology, and Jacki Shugart, senior program manager.  

The annual award honors female employees, nominated by the HBA’s corporate partner companies, in the first 15 to 20 years of their professional careers who contribute significantly to their organization; exemplify leadership; act as a role model and team player; exhibit dedication to the health care industry; and are a true example of top talent.  

Simone Ndujiuba, PharmD, BCOP  

As a subject matter expert in oncology for Prime/MRx, Simone has implemented a first-of-its-kind Precision Oncology Solution and represented Prime/MRx at several conferences and thought leadership forums. Her efforts have enabled the organization to consistently remain ahead of market shifts through her work related to clinical strategy and innovation, helping Prime/MRx bring unique solutions to health plans, providers and members that will ultimately improve quality of care across the continuum. 

“I’m grateful to be honored among this year’s Rising Stars,” Simone said. “When I attended my first HBA Houston Chapter meeting, I was impressed with the dedicated support to professional growth and the camaraderie between members. Through HBA, I’ve continued to sharpen the skills that help me drive affordability and enhance the experience for our customers and providers.”  

Jacki Shugart  

As senior program manager for Prime/MRx’s Integration Management Office, Jacki drives awareness and accountability throughout the organization as it relates to integration and enterprise initiatives. A results-driven leader, Jacki played a key role in structured program management and process improvement including meaningful changes to executive team reporting. 

“Collaborating across departments and navigating the diverse landscape of various teams to foster alignment and drive forward-thinking solutions brings me great satisfaction in my career,” Jacki said. “I look forward to future work with HBA to propel and support more women into leadership roles in the health care realm as women I have worked with have done for me.”  

Simone and Jacki will be recognized among other Rising Stars and Luminaries honorees at the annual Woman of the Year luncheon on Friday, May 10, at the New York Marriott Marquis as well as virtually.
