More about our program

Prime recognizes the importance of Supplier Diversity and is committed to the intentional inclusion of certified minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, disability-owned, LGBT-owned, and other socially and/or economically disadvantaged businesses in procurement opportunities.  At Prime Therapeutics, we believe that a commitment to Supplier Diversity provides us with a value-added business strategy that allows us to better serve our clients, their members, and our communities.

Prime’s objective is to create an environment where diverse suppliers are encouraged to participate in procurement opportunities, yielding business advantage, competitive pricing, high quality and superior service to Prime.  Our procurement team works with internal business partners during the vendor procurement process to identify and provide opportunities to diverse suppliers.

Products and Services That We Purchase

Prime has successfully utilized diverse suppliers to provide products and services in these areas and more:

  • temporary labor and staffing services
  • consulting services
  • facility maintenance and repair services
  • promotional products and office supplies
  • information technology infrastructure services.

Program Considerations

Prime performs services to our clients utilizing both in-house operations and third party suppliers.  It is key to our success that our in-house operations and third party suppliers have the capability to handle our transaction volumes and our requirements for quality, cost, safeguarding of confidential data, and business continuity.  Prime will seek to direct business to new or existing diversity suppliers, where appropriate, to support the continued successful provision of services needed to support our clients and their members.

Second Tier Supplier Diversity

Our Supplier Diversity Program also encourages our first tier suppliers to use diverse suppliers (second tier). First tier contracts are between our company and the supplier. Second tier contracts are between the first-tier supplier and its subcontractor(s). It is the first tier supplier’s obligation to determine if its subcontractors are qualified diverse suppliers and to provide opportunities for diverse suppliers whenever possible.
