Computer return instructions
Don't lose your data!
To get started with your new computer, you first must verify that your personal data has completely synced to OneDrive. Once your data is fully synced, it will be available to you on your new device.
Here's what you need to do.
Step 1: Verify that your data has synced to OneDrive
Your personal data stored on your Windows Desktop and within your Documents folder is already set to synchronize (upload) to OneDrive. To validate the sync is complete, hover your mouse cursor over the OneDrive icon 
in the lower right corner of your desktop.
Once the sync has completed, the message will display 'Up to Date'.

Step 2: ACTION REQUIRED! Move other data to the Documents folder.
- If you have files located in other folders on your computer (i.e. not the Desktop folder or Documents folder), you must move these files to your Documents folder.
- Once you have moved them, you need to ensure they have successfully synced to OneDrive prior to shutting down your old computer by following the instructions above.
- This step is important! Why? Because any file you need to retain that is not stored in the list of automatically synced locations must be copied or moved to your Documents folder so it can sync to OneDrive. Any data not synced to OneDrive will be lost indefinitely with no option for recovery.
Check your monitor and dock
Step 3: Connect external monitors and dock
If you have external monitors, ensure your new laptop successfully connects to your docking station and functions appropriately. Do this before you pack up and return your old device.
If you have a desktop, connect your monitor(s) directly to the video ports on the back of your computer.
Return your old computer (required)
Step 4: Return your old computer to Prime
- Pack your old laptop and charger or desktop in the box that your new computer was shipped in. Seal the box with packing tape.
- Affix the included prepaid FedEx return label to the outside of the box.
- Note: The return address is Prime's authorized vendor for handling returned equipment.
- Bring the return box to your nearest FedEx drop off location.
