Improving the health of our communities through good works
Prime’s employee volunteers and financial contributions make a difference
February 19, 2020This simple tagline for Prime’s corporate giving and volunteer program says it all. And employees take it to heart. PrimeCares helps support and improve our communities through giving and service, and 2019 was another strong year.
Prime employees donated more than $344,000 to five different charities. The company matched fifty cents for every $1 given. Nearly four out of five employees participated in Week of Giving activities. And for the first time, Prime sponsored teams for the Bike MS: MS 150event and donated toward a natural disaster relief program.
The PrimeCares Annual Statement highlights Prime’s achievements in 2019 for:
- Habitat for Humanity
- The American Heart Association (AHA)
- Children’s Hospitals and Clinics
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund
- National Multiple Sclerosis Society
Charities are selected for their relevance to Prime’s membership and mission. All offer opportunities for active employee participation in locations across the country.
Prime employees have a wide range of community interests. The PrimeCares program supports that by matching 100 percent of employee donations to eligible organizations. Plus, it donates $125 to eligible organizations when an employee volunteers eight hours. In 2019, Prime directed more than $20,000 towards 89 different charities through the volunteer hours matching program.
“PrimeCares is another way to show we care about the community we live and work in,” said Lauren Mitrenga, HR Analyst. “The stronger we can make our communities, the better. And as a part of our company culture, it’s a way for Prime to show employees that we value their commitment and care about the things they are passionate about.”
