Albuquerque Business First named Prime the third-place winner in the extra-large business category in its 2020 Best Places to Work award.

Finalist scores were revealed at a virtual awards ceremony on Aug. 20. Winning companies were recognized for creating positive work environments, and for promoting New Mexico and its area employers. Survey comments revealed the coronavirus pandemic and its unique challenges as a common theme this year. Albuquerque Business First noted that more than 70 percent of this year’s finalists said it was important that their company helped them balance working from home with their personal obligations.

When all of Prime moved to become remote in March, Albuquerque employees turned this challenge into an advantage. “Working remotely supports a flexible work-life balance. That has helped keep our staff happy and motivated,” says Dan White, director, operations. “I’m particularly proud that our productivity and quality have continued to improve under the new working conditions,” he adds.

This success contributed to Prime’s decision to permanently move to a remote working environment in Albuquerque. Although the workforce will be more geographically dispersed, Prime’s commitment to Albuquerque will continue. “Even with our employees working from home, we will continue to invest in the community and in local programs important to our employees,” says Maria Schoneman, senior HR business partner.

Prime’s dedicated workforce in Albuquerque – and across Prime – has risen to the challenges presented by the pandemic. “Despite everything we’ve faced this year, winning this award illustrates how connected employees continue to feel to Prime, and to our mission to help people get the medicine they need to feel better and live well,” Dan adds.
