At Prime, we’re committed to creating a culture that promotes and cultivates diversity, equity, and inclusion. Hearing different perspectives leads to more collaborative and innovative approaches. Appreciating diversity leads us to celebrate and support the uniqueness within our workforce. Committing to diversity allows us to serve our clients and members more effectively.

Diversity & Inclusion Council

Founded in 2019, the council drives awareness, initiatives, communication, outreach and events that promote diversity and inclusion. Staffed by Prime employees, it has already made a meaningful impact by sponsoring employee listening sessions, HR-led leader listening sessions, community clean-up days and virtual events such as a 2020 Pride celebration.

Prime Together Foundation

Launched in 2020, the foundation’s mission is to work together with our communities to address inequality and injustice in all manifestations, particularly racism, poverty, health and hunger. Prime employees have raised over $200,000 for the foundation since its launch. The Diversity & Inclusion Council will play a role in recommending how funds are allocated.

Employee Resource Groups

To encourage engagement and provide opportunities for networking and professional development, employees create and lead groups based on individual areas of interest. Active groups include Women + Allies, Prime Pride, Asian, Pacific Islander, Desi, and Allies (APIDA), Black Professionals + Allies, and Veterans, Families & Allies Network. These groups are voluntary and open to all Prime employees.

Member experience

Understanding how culture, family dynamics, belief systems and other characteristics affect health care and outcomes is vital to Prime’s success. Prime continually seeks to deliver the best experience to all members. For example, we offer multilingual member communications and contact center support, a Spanish and a large font member website, and more.

Supplier Diversity

We’re committed to working with certified minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, disability-owned, LGBT-owned, and other socially and economically disadvantaged businesses. Our procurement team works with internal business partners during the vendor procurement process to provide opportunities to diverse suppliers.
